Families enjoy free fun
- Details
From fairground rides and go-karts to clown shows and candy floss, the kids were kept busy at the 10th annual Spencers Wood Carnival.
Open to all, the free event pitched up on the recreation ground in Clares Green Road on Saturday, September 17. The little ones were entertained by craft workshops and circus skills classes, and there was live music and drinks tent to keep the big kids happy. Along with live music and games, there was also a designated arena where groups could show off their artistic and sporting talents.

A fantastic time
- Details
"I just wanted to thank you for organizing such a lovely event yesterday. We had a fantastic time and took a good amount of money considering the current financial climate. We were so busy, we hardly sat down all day. We would love to take part again next year and any other events you may be organizing in the future." RE, Stallholder.
How good the carnival was again this year
- Details
"Just wanted to say how good the carnival was again this year. Although I can't deny the beer tent helped things along for us, we had a fantastic time with the children and family. The band were awesome, and we even had a dance or two (we were the mad blonde nutters dancing to Gimme Some lovin')." RA & AA, Spencers Wood.

"What can I say but immense congratulations to you both for a fantastic carnival. It was a tremendous success, superbly organised, and so well attended. A huge thank you too as the church refreshments 'tent' made a stupendous £400 profit. In all we raised £600 which is magnificent. Can we book our slot for next year, please!!!?" BP, Vicar, Spencers Wood.
